Jolicloud and Jolibook Launch in UK

The Jolibook is a netbook with a difference—instead of running on Windows, it's loaded with the brand new Linux-based OS, Jolicloud. As the 'cloud' part of the name suggests, it's mainly geared up for working online, with everything from Facebook and YouTube to Google Docs and more.

It's a concept that's already got people talking both in the US and the UK, where the Jolibook recently launched. It's currently available on Amazon UK or the Vye website.

Here are a few of the Vye Jolibook's tech specs:
  • 10" screen
  • Atom N550 processor (dual core, 1.5 GHz)
  • 1 GB RAM
  • 250 GB hard drive
  • 7-hour battery life advertised

With a launch price of £279,99, it isn't particularly cheap for a Linux netbook, especially given that Windows has gained a lot of ground on its rival OS over the last year.
