Iomega Launches eGo USB 3.0 Hard Drives

Following LaCie, Transcend, WD and Dane-Elec, Iomega has now announced the release of its own range of high-speed USB 3.0 hard drives.


eGo USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Portable Hard Drive
  • There'll be a compact 2.5-inch eGo USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Portable Hard Drive with a capacity of 500 GB. This will be available for a suggested retail price of £89.50.
  • There'll also be larger 3.5-inch eGo USB 3.0 SuperSpeed Desktop Hard Drives available with a capacity of 1 TB or 2 TB. The 2 TB version will be priced at around £157.90.

All models come with a free 12-month subscription to Trend Micro Internet Security for PC, or Trend Micro Smart Surfing Software for Mac, as well as the Iomega Protection Suite, which includes:

- Iomega QuikProtect: for simple, scheduled file and data backup (for desktop PCs and Windows or Macintosh laptops).

- EMC Retrospect Express: for backing up data, applications and settings (for desktop PCs and Windows or Macintosh laptops).

- MozyHome Online: online backup with 2 GB of free storage (unlimited online storage available or $4.95 per month). MozyHome Online allows you to retrieve stored data from any computer connected to the Internet, anywhere in the world.
