Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000
Hitachi has updated its range of internal hard drives with two new series of HDD: the Deskstar 5K3000 and 7K3000.
The 7K3000 is Hitachi's new high-end internal hard drive, with 64 MB of cache memory and a spin speed of 7200 rpm. It looks like we could finally have found a rival for the WD Caviar Black!
The 5K3000 is a budget version of the 7K3000, with 'just' 32 MB of cache memory and a spin speed of 5700 to 5940 rpm, depending on which model you choose. Although it can't match the 7200 rpm of its high-end counterpart, overall performance is what really counts, and in that department you may just find yourself pleasantly surprised!
