The different capacities

The Corsair Force series is available in 6 capacities: 40 GB, 60 GB, 80 GB, 120 GB, 160 GB and 240 GB. They are all sold with a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch adaptor except the 40 GB version.

Pure performance

As of the first test carried out with CrystalDiskMark, we could see that the read performances were up there with the best. The write speeds, however, topped out at 66 MB/s:
 

Although surprising, these results are confirmed by the AS-SSD test:
 

Access times are a little down on the best SSDs but are still very rapid in comparison to HDDs:
 

Apart from certain specific transfers of large files, the Corsair F60's performance in practice shouldn't disappoint. Lets look at exactly what it gives...

Performance in practice

The PCMark Vantage score is not bad at all, though far from equaling the OCZ Vertex 2 or Intel X25-M:
 

In terms of the purely practical tests, note that performance falls off a little for installation of the Crysis demo. Otherwise it's similar to all other good SSDs.
 

In the end, while the Corsair F60 gets close to the quality you get from other SandForce SF-1222 SSDs, it isn't quite on a par with them. It lacks a little rapidity in writes to get top rating. It is nevertheless an excellent SSD.
