Toshiba was clearly one of the stars of the show at IFA 2011—at least that's the impression we got from the huge crowd of people permanently flocking to the firm's stand.

On the eve of the Berlin consumer tech show's official opening, the Toshiba stand was swamped with curious journalists all keen to try out the 55ZL2—the firm's 4K glasses-free 3D TV. We were just as eager as everyone else to take a look at this TV, so we headed over to the stand without delay to check it out.

Given the constant crowds on the Toshiba stand throughout the six-day IFA, it looks like the general public were just as intrigued as we were. People ended up waiting in line to have a go with the 55ZL2 in a queue that snaked its way around the Toshiba stand (see below).

In fact, we reckon the 55ZL2 was the most popular TV at this year's IFA, in spite of worthy competition from LG's Full LED TVs, Samsung's 60" and 65" D8000 TVs and the 8K TV over on Sharp's stand.

After the demonstration, we found that people seemed pretty happy to have tried out Toshiba's no-glasses 3D TV. They had the impression they'd experienced a new, advanced kind of TV technology ... perhaps a bit too advanced though, as five minutes of glasses-free 3D was enough to tire even the most hardcore 3D addicts.
