Following the Asus Eee Slate EP121 and the Acer Iconia Tab A500, it's Samsung's turn to launch a hybrid tablet/netbook with the Slate PC.
The 11.6-inch Samsung Slate PC runs on Windows 7 and has an Intel Core i5 processor, along with 4 GB of RAM, which should put it in front of the Eee Slate (Core i3) in pure performance terms.
To ensure decent overall responsiveness, Samsung has also added an SSD. Faster than a standard hard drive, this choice of data storage solution is also lighter and the machine as a whole weighs just 980 grammes. According to Samsung the system takes just fifteen seconds to boot and comes out of standby in two seconds.
Another positive is that the battery life has been announced at 7 hours (against 2 hours measured for the Eee Slate 1201).
The PLS - IPS version Samsung - panel has a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution.
The release is slated for November 2011, for a price of something over £1000.
