It's a powerful smartphone with plenty of features, and HTC has used it to prove that Windows Mobile really can run a fast phone. The manufacturer has of course added its own extra layer that helps you forget the old look and feel of Windows Mobile 6.5. But its the Qualcomm processor (a 1 GHz SnapDragon, thought to be the same as found on the Google Nexus One) that really helps it get to grips with the heavyweight Microsoft OS.
The good news keeps on coming though, as the manufacturer recently announced via Twitter its intention to update the phone to Windows Mobile 7 … before the end of 2010! In doing so, it has insisted that the HD2 is the only handset on the market that will be able to run the next version of Microsoft's OS. What all this implies, though, is that no other HTC phones will receive the same upgrade.
