Next month Dr. Dre's ever-popular Beats line will be growing by two products: the Beats Executive over-ear headphones and the Beats Pill, an NFC speaker.

The brand's products are never wanting for media attention, and anywhere large groups of people gather you're bound to see them en masse. Yet they've often met with resistance from critics deploring the out-of-control bass and price.

Who knows, maybe the Beats Executive will be a whole new beginning for the hip-hop legend's audio company... As far as finishing and choice materials go (the Dr.'s fond of aluminium and leather), we can say they look just as impeccable as the other models.

The Beats Executive will be released as of 20 November for £279.99.

With the aptly-named Pill, Beats has come up with a design that's not likely to be forgotten. It comes in a choice of three colours: red, black or white. It has an NFC chip that allows it to link automatically with any NFC smartphone, and for the rest there's Bluetooth.

The Pill consists of four speakers housed inside a 19-cm-long, 4.6-cm-wide, 310-gramme body and according to Beats Electronics it has a 7-hour battery life.

The Pill will be released as of 8 November for £169.95.
