Rave Reviews?

As we saw with the MDR-EX33LP earphones, many online reviews speak very highly of the EX35LP.

And it all boils down to the same thing. Not only are genuine tests very difficult to find, but most of the reviews are written by users who are comparing them to the earphones originally supplied with their portable music players. These are almost always awful, and compared with that kind of trash, these Sony in-ear headphones seem amazing.

Sony has a huge range of headphones and earphones on the market, including the EX35LP. Although searching the Sony site isn't the easiest thing in the world, once you're on the right page you'll soon find yourself spoilt for choice. Beware though, as not all of the models are worth the investment.

Handling: not much better than an entry-level pair

These in-ear headphones have a design that's unique to Sony. Unlike the dozens of pleasantly rounded models that all look the same, these earphones have sharper, more angular and yet attractive design. They fit in your ear just fine but they're certainly not the most comfortable earphones we've ever tried out.

Although they seem to be reasonably well-made, the materials used are fairly flimsy and we only reckon they'll last few months.

The only accessories supplied are an incredibly impractical cable-tidy and a few earbuds. There's no case or anything else.

Audio Quality: all a blur

The MDR-EX35LP earphones use exactly the same components and internal structure as the MDR-EX33LP we tested earlier. You should therefor consult the Audio Quality section of the the EX33LP product test as it's applicable to both pairs of earphones.

The MDR-EX35LP are exactly the same as the MDR-EX33LP but with a different design. We don't recommend them.
