Conclusion

AMD is marketing a decent graphics card here, a product that is both rapid and with low energy consumption. Nevertheless, you're paying a high price for innovation here and it would no doubt be wise to wait for the competition to catch up and bring the price down. |
This NVIDIA card is a real gem! It offers fast gaming, compatibility with a load of extra features (3D, CUDA) and, above all, fairly quiet operation. Keep an eye on the price to make sure you get best value for money. |
This is a very good mid-range card that's at ease with all video games. Note, however, that it has a misleading name: it is not a substitute for the brand's old high-end. |
All in all, the Nvidia GeForce GTX 680 is an excellent graphics card. Gaming performances are fast, power use is low for this kind of performance level, and the card is particularly quiet. Based on these standard review criteria, it's a five-star model. However, it's a bit of a shame that the GPU Boost function gives rise to differences in performance between product batches. |
AMD has managed to engineer a card with a significant improvement in performance in comparison to the previous generation at the same time as including some innovations that reduce energy consumption significantly. It is nevertheless advisable to wait for the Nvidia response before splashing out. |
Power consumption is well controlled on this card and is lower than the old generation. Nevertheless performance in gaming isn’t as good as expected and it only just merits a three-star rating. |
