The manufacturer of the iRiver is, as of this summer, supplying a tablet in the United States that is adapted for Google's digital library.

The new iRiver electronic reader will arrive on the 17th of July on the US market. For $140 (around £90), the Story HD is a 6-inch tablet with a very similar keyboard and look to Amazon's Kindle.

Compatible with Google's electronic library, the display is in black & white and is HD (1024x768 pixels). You won't need to use a cable to download your electronic books as it's equipped with wi-fi.

The eBooks platform

Google eBooks offers access to around three million free books, plus hundreds of thousands of paid titles. This digital platform already groups no fewer than 250 independent booksellers and 4000 publishers.

Already accessible from an Internet browser, an Android terminal, iOS and the Chrome Web Store, Google's electronic library will now also be available on the iRiver tablet.
