Google Drive: Online Storage

Google doesn't yet offer an online storage solution, unlike Microsoft and its Skydrive, which is one of the best current services. However a Google Drive looks to be on its way...

The social media consultant, Johannes Wigand, recently participated in a Google conference and managed to take a picture on the fly of a page entitled Google Drive, with his mobile phone no doubt given the quality of the picture...

You can see the Google Drive entirely integrated into Google Docs, right down to the URL, a "My Google Drive" space like the "My collections" in Docs, where you can create your directories.

This would be good news if it were confirmed. Even if the idea sends something of a shiver down the spine, many Internet users already use Google for their email, shared documents, search engine, preferences (Google tracks your clicks), calendar, social networking and so on. If we also give Google our sensitive files, they're going to end up knowing everything about us. Even more than Facebook!
