New 'Ghosting Time' Test for TVs, Monitors and More

We've developed a new test procedure here at DigitalVersus to measure and quantify ghosting in TVs, monitors and other types of screen. The longer the ghosting time, measured in milliseconds, the more blurred movement will look on the screen.

Note that the 'ghosting time' has nothing to do with the 'response time' often quoted by manufacturers or previously used in our reviews. We measure the ghosting time using a camcorder than records the screen in action at 1,000 frames per second, and we've already to put all kinds of displays through their paces (OLED, plasma, IPS, TN, MVA, ASV, PVA, etc.)!

We'll therefore be ditching the response time and our approximative measurements in favour of this much more accurate and reliable way of measuring how prone a screen really is to ghosting! Follow the link below to find out how 29 of our most popular products got on in this new test.
