The GeForce GTX 570 is one of our favourite graphics cards. Gigabyte has now added two more versions to its catalogue.
At first sight, it isn't easy to distinguish between the two new arrivals. Both have the same name, GV-N570UD-13I, with just the suffixes "Rev. 1.0" and "Rev. 2.0" allowing you to tell them apart. The cooler and the clocks (standard for a GTX 570) are also the same. The only difference is the connectivity!
The first version, with higher quality components, has an 8-pin PCI-E connector and another with 6 pins, whereas the second version uses two 6-pin PCI-Es and standard components.
Is the Rev. 1.0 therefore better than the Rev. 2.0? Not necessarily. The Rev 2.0 has better video connectivity with one HDMI port, a Display Port and two DVIs, whereas the Rev. 1.0 has just two DVI ports and a mini-HDMI.
Make sure you know which revision you're going for when you buy.
