Looking for a sure-fire way to ensure monster sales figures? Then take two hit concepts and roll them together into one all-new product. That's exactly what Gear4 has done with its latest range of iPod docks and speakers, based the cute avian kamikazes from the hit game Angry Birds.
The exploding Black Bird and pesky Helmet Pig, on the other hand, have been transformed into iPod/iPhone docks. The armoured pig has a docking station built into its helmet, while the 'boom boom bird' comes with a separate dock—a bit like the one supplied with the Red Bird speaker but with a connector for iPods, iPhones and iPads.
All three speakers are due to launch in September in the UK, priced at £49.99 for the Red Bird speaker and £69.99 for the Black Bird and Helmet Pig docks.

Our feathered friends from the mobile phone game Angry Birds have now been transformed into iPod docks and speakers by specialist accessory maker Gear4. Three different models will be released, each with their own specific functions.

Just like in the game, the Red Bird is the most basic model. This mean-looking bird therefore has two built-in speakers and a subwoofer, as well as a 3.5 mm jack connection. It also comes with a handy stand for your MP3 player or mobile phone, which is designed to look like one of the bricks the birds' target structures are made from.
