Should you run out and buy Sony's latest handheld console when it hits stores on 22 February? To answer that question, we've spent the last few days getting to know a final version of the Sony PlayStation Vita.
The Nintendo DS may have proved a huge worldwide hit, but Sony's PSP still managed to clock up a fairly impressive number of sales over the years. So portable gaming clearly isn't dead just yet, as Sony is back with a replacement for its PlayStation Portable handheld console—the PlayStation Vita. With a large, touch-sensitive OLED screen, boosted graphics power and two analogue sticks, the Vita is an ever-more gamer-oriented console that should make a worthy replacement for the PSP while also fighting off competition from smartphones and tablets.
