Galaxy Nexus extra batteryAhead of our full review of the Google Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0 smartphone by Samsung, we might as well already tell you that the phone's battery life isn't up to much. To get around this, Samsung has launched a high-power battery ... although it'll set you back an extra $50!

One of the main drawbacks of the latest Google Phone is its insufficient battery life. Obviously, it's not the only smartphone that guzzles power like there's no tomorrow—far from it, in fact—but with its super-sized screen (4.65 inches) and 1750 mAh battery (which we suppose isn't that massive), we were hoping for better results. However, it seems that 1.2 Ghz processor is a bit too power-hungry for its own good.

Samsung's high-power 2100 mAh battery is only available in the US for the moment and is selling for $50. The battery comes with a replacement rear cover for the phone as it makes the handset a little bulkier, adding a few millimetres to its total width.
