In addition to the EH-TW9000 and EH-TW6000 projectors, Epson has unveiled its most affordable Full HD 3D model. The EH-TW5900 has a similar spec to the EH-TW6000, give or take one or two details.

Epson has introduced the EH-TW5900 as the lite version of the EH-TW6000. It's therefore still equipped with Epson's D9 transmissive LCD panels (glasses not supplied). Performance is slightly down however with the contrast ratio halved (20 000:1 instead of 40 000:1). Brightness is also down from 2200 to 2000 lumens. In spite of this slight reduction, Epson says that the EH-TW5900 is able to guarantee a sufficiently bright 3D image.
Apart from these small differences, the EH-TW5900 has five colour management modes in 2D and two in 3D but is still not ISF-certified. It also retains the 1.6x zoom without lens shift. You need to take this into account when positioning the projector in your living room.
The EH-TW5900 will be available as of November at just under £1000.
