Fuji is billing the new F70EXR as a compact digital camera with a powerful 10x zoom that can take excellent quality photos at low light levels despite only weighing 180 grams and being 23 mm thick--and all of that for under £250.  It's on sale already,  and cheaper than we thought.

On paper, it's the perfect compact camera.  Its zoom lens beats the eagerly-awaited Panasonic ZX1, which costs around the same.  Its Super CCD EXR sensor should be able to produce better results, especially at night.  It'll also be thinner, and could be called more stylish because of that.

It's a shame, though, that Fuji still seems to be immune the charms of 720p HD video, which is gradually becoming more widespread in this sector of the camera market, and is a really advantage to some of the F70EXR's future competitors.

We're hoping to test it very soon to see if it lives up to its promises.
