Four New VA Monitors from BenQ

After seeing a small flurry of IPS-panel monitors recently released, such as the Dell U2311H, it's now VA technology that's set to return to the high street. So whereas Dell seems to have given up on VA technology to concentrate on IPS, BenQ has just announced the upcoming launch of four new VA screens.
The monitors slated for release are two 22-inch models (VW2220 and VW2220H) and two 24-inch models (EW2420 and VW2420). All of the monitors have a VA panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and with LED backlighting. However, the accessories and connections vary greatly between models.
- Finally, the VW2220H is the same as the VW2220 but with an added HDMI connection.
At first glance, these monitors may look pretty interesting, but there's plenty of key information that's still unknown, including their price and response times. It's probably best not to run out and place your order just yet then. BenQ is, however, announcing the arrival of the 24-inch models sometime between mid-July and mid-August with the 22-inch models following shortly afterwards.
Those who are tired of the dodgy colour homogeneity, tight viewing angles and screen darkness associated with TN panels should be pleased to see a few new alternatives, as it looks like manufacturers have finally started to explore the use of other types of screen technology in consumer products.
