Although Firefox 4 has only just been released, Mozilla has already announced it'll be outing version 5 of its web browser in June, with versions 6 and 7 due before the end of 2011.

Mozilla is hoping to reduce the time it takes to develop and release new versions of its browser in order to keep it at the cutting edge of Internet navigation. That's hardly surprising considering that Google Chrome, released in 2008, is already at its tenth version.

From now on, a new version of Firefox will be released every 13 to 18 weeks! That means we can expect to see Firefox 6 in mid-September and Firefox 7 in December 2011.

Firefox 5 will feature a PDF reader, an updated tab system and the ability to log in to several accounts at the same time on sites such as Facebook and Gmail. There'll also be a built-in service for sharing information with social network sites. Version 5 should be less power-hungry and generally a lighter, breezier browser, with a special 'low power' version available for laptops.
