Firefox 4.0 is now in public beta, so anybody can try it out for 'testing purposes' to help 'Mozilla to gather as much feedback as possible' to tweak the final version.
In the new version, tabs are now above the address bar, there are several new buttons (including one for submitting feedback). Apart from these visual changes, though, the real change is that running extensions as separate processes should improve stability. This feature was first added to one of the latest versions of Firefox 3.6, but didn't really change much as far as we can see.
We're very keen to try this new system out because we rely on some very useful plug-ins that have become more and more difficult to use from each version of Firefox to the next. Nothing's changed at that front: when we started it up, not one of our existing extensions wanted to work with Firefox 4.0!

The window that lists currently installed extensions has been redesigned
There should also be speed improvements too.
Finally, don't panic if your can't see your favourites when you start the new browser for the first time: just click Bookmarks > View Bookmarks Toolbar and they'll be back.
