Mark Zuckerberg, founder and CEO of Facebook has announced the 200 millionth active user to the website. The growth has been fast and he adds that ''200 million is a good start''. He explains that Facebook's ''goal was to create a richer, faster way for people to share information about what was happening around them.''
Facebook's competitors on the Web are MySpace and to a lesser extent Bebo. Since its launch in 2004, Facebook has been an international success. It has platforms in many languages such as French, German, Spanish or Chinese. In order to celebrate the event, a space on Facebook has been created where people can share their stories about how the site" has helped them give back to their communities, effect change or connect with a distant relative."
