That's all very well and good in theory, but the interface's design could be more user-friendly. Novices may find it rather complicated.
The Seagate GoFlex Pro 2.5-inch portable external hard drive is great for use with laptops but not so great for desktop tower cases, as its USB connector cable is a little on the short side (approx. 50 centimetres).
Otherwise, Seagate has come up with a pretty nifty way set its drive apart from competitor models, as it boasts interchangeable connector docks for compatibility with several interfaces.

The drive comes with a USB 3.0 connector as standard, but docks for FireWire 800 and eSATA are available as optional extras. Note that the GoFlex Pro is available with 320 GB, 500 GB, 750 GB, 1 TB or 1.5 TB of memory.
Data Transfer Speeds

We tested this external hard drive over a USB 3.0 connection, which gave excellent results. With read speeds of 116 MBps and write speeds of 111 MBps, it's fast enough to rival the speedy LaCie Rugged range of external hard drives
Portability
As well as its fast data transfer speeds, the GoFlex Pro also has the advantage of being very compact, with a total volume of 151 cm3. Plus, it weighs just 205 g. Although there are smaller and lighter external hard drives out there, this model is still perfectly portable.
