We've just finished testing two new USB 3.0 external hard drives from Iomega: the eGo 500 GB and the SSD Flash 64 GB.

For the time being, we're still waiting for USB 3.0 interfaces to become widely available in computers and laptops, but most external hard drive manufacturers now have at least one drive in their range that meets the new standard. Iomega is no exception, and today's first test features the eGo 500 GB USB 3.0 drive, which is also available in 320 GB and 1 TB versions.

The second drive that we're looking at today, the Iomega SSD Flash USB 3.0 64 GB is, as its name suggests, an SSD drive.  After the OCZ Enyo 128 GB, it's the second external drive based on this technology that we've tested.
