After the NX20 and NX210, we're reviewing the third model in Samsung's hybrid camera range, the NX1000. Although it's the lowest-end model in the NX series, it has the same internal electronics as its two higher-end counterparts. But does that make it a good-value buy?

The Samsung NX1000 has the same 20-Megapixel sensor, Wi-Fi modes and basic tech specs as the NX210. However, the design and build have been skimmed down and the AMOLED screen has gone. Although this is technically Samsung's entry-level NX camera, the NX1000 works out more expensive than the Panasonic GF5 and Sony NEX-F3, both of which have built-in flashes and souped-up screens (a touchscreen for the GF5, a swivel screen for the NEX-F3).
