Sony raised the bar in the expert compact market with the excellent RX100, leaving many other manufacturers struggling to keep up. But while Panasonic's Lumix L7 may still use a small-format sensor, it has a much faster lens than Sony's model. Will that be enough to give the RX100 a run for its money?


The Panasonic Lumix LX7 may look a lot like the LX5, but big changes have been made in this updated model. It has a new CMOS sensor, a new ultra-fast lens (with wide-angle aperture at f/1.4 and telephoto aperture at f/2.3) and a few extra controls. Will these new features go far enough to bring the LX7 in line with Sony's game-changer? Let's take a look.
