Nikon Coolpix S2600: Cloned Camera

Nikon is hoping the freshly announced Coolpix S2600 will prove something of a hit in 2012 with its sub-£100 price tag. So could this latest Nikon pocket snapper be due to follow in the footsteps of the Nikon S3100 as one of the firm's best-selling models?

Well, that's probably a pretty safe bet, as the Coolpix S2600 is basically just a Coolpix S3100 with a catchy new name. The two cameras have the same 14-Megapixel CCD sensor and internal electronics, the same 26-130 mm lens, and a very similar design and handling. The controls are very slightly different though—the S2600 has black buttons while the S3100 has aluminium buttons ...
