"Small is beautiful", or so it goes for Nikon's camera designers, who've managed to make the J3 even smaller in size than its predecessor (yes, that does appear to be possible!), pushing design the limits of acceptability as far as handling goes. The J3 is light, has been well designed inside and out, and comes across as a camera that's matured nicely. Many of the teething troubles seen in previous models have been ironed out and there's a handful of new features. However, there are still a few niggling blips here and there. More on that in the full review.

In the meantime, you can head over to our Face-Off camera comparison tool to take a look at how the J3 got on in our various lab tests. The ISO test results are also available below. This should give you a first impression of how the J3 performs and how it handles its 14 million pixels and impressive buffer (which can deal with no less than 810 million pixels per second!). Enjoy!
