This week we're taking a closer look at touch-screen compacts, with three different models to put through their paces. There's something for everyone too, as the Nikon S4000 is an entry-level camera, the Samsung ST5000 is a high-end compact and Fuji's Z700EXR has a unique kind of sensor.

The Nikon Coolpix S4000 is an entry-level compact with fairly standard spec, including a 4x zoom and 12 Megapixels but no optical stabilisation. At this end of the market, the touch-screen will help the S4000 stand out from the increasingly dense crowd.

The Samsung ST5000 has a more impressive set of tech specs, boasting a high-quality finish, a huge screen, a 7x zoom and 14 Megapixels. Samsung has plenty of experience in making touch-screen products, but will the picture quality be up to scratch?

The Fujifilm FinePix Z700 EXR is the first stylish point-and-shoot camera to feature a Super CCD EXR sensor, a popular feature on previous Fuji cameras. It's also Fuji's first touch-sensitive model, making it slightly bulkier than other cameras in the sleek Z range.
