The G1 X is Canon's first compact camera to come loaded with a large-format sensor (18.7 x 14 mm). It's no doubt intended to go some way towards rivalling the wealth of interchangeable lens compacts proving increasingly popular in today's camera market.

The Canon G1 X has an impressive spec sheet, boasting a 14-Megapixel 18.7 x 14 mm CMOS sensor, 1080 video, a stabilised 4x zoom lens, an optical viewfinder, a 920,000-dot swivel screen, a built-in flash and loads of controls and buttons for expert-level handling.

Will this latest G-series compact have what it takes to win over advanced users and pros? Find out in our review!
