The two cameras we're reviewing today don't have much in common except, perhaps, their originality. The TG-1 is the latest high-end, all-action, ultra-tough, waterproof snapper from Olympus, while the Z340 is Polaroid's latest digital camera with built-in photo printer.

The Olympus TG-1 is packed with the firm's finest technology, including a 12-Megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, a new 25-100 mm lens with f/2 aperture at wide-angle, an OLED screen, a GPS and more. It's also a tough little snapper that's waterproof to 12 meters and shockproof from heights of two metres.
The Polaroid Z340 is a pretty basic digital camera (14-Megapixel CCD, fixed-focal-length lens, 720p video) that's twinned with a new-generation Zink photo printer, promising major improvements in quality. With its boxy, chunky build, this Polaroid looks and feels like a 2012 version of its vintage predecessors!
