Duel SX50 FZ200 titre
What's the best bridge camera on the market right now? On paper, that's not such an easy question to answer, especially since two of autumn 2012's bridges really stand out from the rest. That said, they stand out for very different reasons—one has a monster zoom lens while the other has a fast lens with constant aperture. Time to take a closer look at how they compare.

The zoom lens is traditionally a key selling point for bridge cameras. Canon is top dog in that particular field with the 50x zoom in its SX50 HS, boasting a focal range of 24 to 1200 mm! But not so very long ago, bridges were also prized for their aperture, particularly certain Panasonic models. So this year, Panasonic has gone back to its roots, keeping the zoom in the FZ200 at 24x, which is fairly modest by today's standards, but fixing aperture at a constant f/2.8 from 25 mm right up to 600 mm.
