The UK release date for Dell's Streak tablet has now been announced. Described by Dell as a product somewhere 'between traditional smartphones and larger-screen tablets,' the Mini 5, later renamed Streak, will be hitting the high-street on 4 June.

For the moment, the Streak will run on Android 1.6, with an update to Android 2.2 scheduled sometime in the coming months.

You can make and receive calls on Dell's Streak, as well as shoot photos and videos with the 5-Megapixel camera, complete with LED flash and autofocus. This also makes it practical for video-conferencing. The Streak has a 1 GHz Qualcomm processor and a 2 GB internal memory, which can be expanded with microSD cards of up to 32 GB. It has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and integrated GPS functionality for use with apps like Google Maps or Copilot.

It'll be released on the O2 network and pricing information is yet to be confirmed.
