AMD Phenom II X6 1075T
AMD has recently introduced no fewer than six new processors to its catalogue. We have received the four most consumer orientated. How do they do?

First in the lot, there's the Phenom II X6 1075T, the new six-core CPU from AMD. Not too expensive, it positions itself comfortably opposite the high-end Intel models. Next comes the Phenom II X4 970, a quad core and the fastest quad from AMD.

Lower down the range, there's the Phenom II X2 560 and its two cores at 3.3 GHz. Lastly the Athlon II X4 645 is an all round model. Its four cores at 3.1 GHz mean it's at ease across most activities for a very acceptable price.

We ran the four models through our usual battery of tests: video gaming, encoding, edition and compression. We also analysed energy consumption. You'll find all the results in our processor face-off.

Lastly don't forget that the performance index table is available for an overall vision of the current offer.
