After JVC did so well with colourful camcorders last ear, Samsung has now announced its own offering, which matches the colour schemes found on its HD TVs.The SMX-C10's Crystal Gloss-coated exterior comes in your choice of Platinum Black or Vibrato Red, making this svelte little camcorder even more showy.
Samsung has also honed the design, tilting the lens by 25° to reduce wrist strain while filming. In order to keep the lens flat, you no longer need to raise your elbow, and the LCD screen is out of sight as you record, allowing you to focus on the scene in front of you.
There's no HD, meaning you can record up to six hours of MPeg-4 video on the 16 GB Flash memory, and the manufacturer claims that there's enough battery life to record for around 2 hours 40 minutes between recharges. And when it does need some more juice, you can either plug it into the mains or use the supplied USB adaptor.
