As this year's CES, Microsoft presented a new version of its Surface touchscreen table/panel, now a super-slim 4-inches (10 cm) thick.

As the fruit of a partnership between Samsung and Microsoft, the Surface features Pixel Sense technology, which basically turns every pixel in the screen into a camera. Needless to say, the demonstration of this Surface 2.0 in action seriously impressed the crowd of journalists in the audience.

The Surface runs on Windows 7 and is able to detect the slightest movement of your fingers across its screen with incredible accuracy, thanks to a sensor hidden under each and every pixel. That's not all though, as it can even read and display anything placed on its surface, from images and barcodes to text. This level of interaction is seriously impressive to watch.

With a host of improvements under its belt, Microsoft's interactive Surface should start cropping up in all kinds of public places over the course of the year.
