We're pleased to announce that we've just been delivered one of Casio's high-end LED/laser projectors, the XJ-A245. It's now been rushed off to our test lab and is currently being put through its paces.
Some of you may well be thinking that you've already seen LED projectors tested on DigitalVersus as we did, in fact, test a selection of LED mini-projectors earlier this year. Although these mini-projectors do technically use LEDs as a light source, their actual use remains very limited due to their low power. In other words, the Casio XJ-A245 is the first genuine LED projector we've managed to get our hands on, with a huge light output of 2500 lumens (around 1000 lumens is usually sufficient for a home cinema projector).
Check out the Casio XJ-A245 below:
Here are its basic tech specs:
Our aim over the next week is to find out whether this projector—essentially aimed at business use—is also suitable for home cinema use.
Keep your eyes peeled for our full product test, coming soon.
