Canon has recently renewed its range of Ixus digital cameras, but its entry-level option remains the Canon Ixus 95 IS that was released in the spring.  It's a small 10 Megapixel camera, with a basic 3x zoom and no real wide-angle.  More basic than the Ixus 100 IS, it's also a more affordable option and has everything you'd expect from a modern digital camera.

The recipe for the Ixus 95 IS includes optical stabilization, a solid, elegant frame, a viewfinder, responsive electronics and powerful automatic modes.  That puts it up against cameras like the Panasonic FS7, the Nikon S640 and the Samsung ST50 for instance.  How does it do?
