Camcorder Review: Sony HDR-CX700, Canon HF G10 Both Add a Lens Hood

Sony and Canon have both recently launched new high-end camcorders, and both manufacturers have plumped for a lens hood.

But which one will come out on top?

The Sony CX700's touchscreen menu has been simplified and redesigned, the angle of view widened to 26 mm and, most importantly, there's a new 1080/50p mode to make the most of the 96 GB of flash memory.

The Canon HF G10 may be bulky but it has a 30.4 mm lens, a 3.4'' touchscreen display and 32 GB of flash memory.  It certainly shoots great video, but it has one or two weaknesses compared to its main rivals.  You'll have to read the test to find out just which ones though ...
