The six patent infringements relate to several of Google's products, including the Android OS, Google Search, Google Music, Offers, Google+, Google Maps and other location-based services. No further details about the nature of the infringements have been released for the time being.
BT is the latest in a line of high-profile companies to go after Google for patent infringement, with lawsuits from Apple, eBay, Oracle and Microsoft already in the courts. BT may file similar claims in Europe too.
Google is yet to comment on the matter.
