Blu-ray players are a very visible set of products this holiday season and certainly make an excellent Christmas present. At the very least, they can make up for the frustrating lack of HD broadcasts by getting the most out of your HD TV. Very few shows are available in HD, and even those that are have a resolution of 1440 x 1080i, while Blu-ray discs are in 1920 x 1080p.
The cost of the players is coming down, and more and more titles are available on Blu-ray, so now could be the time to take the plunge. And why not start with the new Sony BDP-S560? It's one of the best players currently available, after all …
