We tested AMD's new six-core CPU, the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T at the end of last month, but our friends over at BeHardware have taken a much closer look.

The Phenom II X6 processors aren't the first from AMD to feature six cores, but the previous Opteron models were designed for servers rather than desktop PCs.  Two new models are now on sale to the general public:

  • Phenom II X6 1055T, 2.8 GHz, Turbo Core 3.3 GHz, TDP 125W
  • Phenom II X6 1090T, 3.2 GHz, Turbo Core 3.6 GHz, TDP 125W

If you're interested in finding out a little more about these two, then you could do a lot worse than looking at BeHardware's in-depth report.
