ANSI contrast: 560:1
White levels (Max): 300 cd/m²
Gamma (Av): 2,20
DeltaE on PC: 8.3 (*)

(*) this poor score does not reflect images obtained with other sources (tuner TV, DVD, Bluray…)

We take these measuements using the best settings for watching a movie. Whether Cinema, Home Theater or Film mode, the majority of TVs have a preset for this. Wherever possible, we set the white levels at 150 cd/ cd/m², although, obviously, we measure the maximum brightness of white separately.
This television is the 37 inch version of the 32 inch screen that we have tested. the 32LG3500.

It is identical in terms of spec, panel and electronics. Only the brightness can very slightly vary, modifying the contrast. According to our tests, and the manufacturers we have asked, the results of one size can easily be extrapolated to identical models of different sizes.

-

Good sound, especially for an entry level TV

-

Default settings mediocre

-

Poor contrast

-

Colour quality problems when connecting to a PC

In the new generation of TV, the LG3500 series represents the entry level range. They do nevertheless come with an HD compatible digital tuner (limited to HD Ready however) but the contrast is quite weak.
