This model is the 36 inch version of the 32 inch TV that we tested in our labs, the Sony Bravia KDL-32S4000. Everything we said in the original article holds true--the only thing that's different is the size!
The components, both physical and electronic, are all identical to those found in the model we tested. The only factor which could be prone to slight variation is the brightness, producing slightly different contrast. According to our own tests, and assurances from the manufacturer, the results of one TV can accurately be applied to others in the range at different sizes.

With a rather imperfect picture, no HD tuner and mediocre sound, there's not a lot to recommend about the S4000, despite its low price tag. There are plenty of better TVs out there for not much more money.
