The Wi-Fi FotoConnect by Pix-star exists in 2 sizes: 8 and 10 inches and allows you to send and receive photos easily.

While other frames rely on memory cards and USB keys, this one allows you to recieve pictures directly from the Internet thanks to a dedicated email address. The same applies to sending pictures from your frame to other Pix-Star frames or to other email addresses.Moreover with a 2GB memory, you can store up to 10 000 pictures. Audio playback can accompany your slideshows. An external Bluetooth option is also available to transfer pictures from your phone.

Gap in design

Nothing much to report on a design that features black plastic and aluminum chrome plating. The display seems however to be floating within the frame. Dust and dirt will find this gap welcoming. We were not impressed by the build.

Viewing angles and picture quality

With a TN display, the Pixstar cannot avoid the problem of viewing angles. When sitting in front of it, you can see the pictures just okay, but from below, you will not. Image quality is average; photo reproduction is actually quite decent even though the colours are a bit too vibrant to be true. If you look at the pictures from very close, you will see some ghosting, but then again why would anyone want stick their face on a frame?

Your favourite MP3s can be played during a slideshow. It’s a bit of a gimmick (the sound quality is rather poor) but many will enjoy this option.
