Retrospect Express
The back-up utility that Iomega ships with its eGo drives is called Retrospect Express. It's easy to program this tool to regularly take a copy of your entire computer to put things back together again if there's a problem.
Advanced options include the ability to program hourly, daily or weekly back-ups, encryption and the saving multiple rolling versions of the same file.

Along the way, the design has changed little apart from this shift in technology, and we're glad to report that the glossy case in a choice of colors still looks good.
USB Speeds (MB/s)
.jpg)
Iomega is far from the market leader when it comes to miniaturization though, and for 250 GB disks, these eGos are pretty large.
While LaCie's Little Disk or Maxtor's One Touch 4 Mini both slide easily into a shirt pocket, you're going to need a generous pair of jeans if you're planning on carrying the eGo around with you in a pocket.
And the extra size and weight don't do anything to improve the speeds on offer where the eGo also lags behind.
On average, it reaches 27.8 MB/s when it comes to reading data, a figure which doesn't really cut it next to the 30.6 MB/s of Maxtor's One Touch Mini.
To cut a long story short: there are other hard drives out there with smaller footprints and faster data transfer rates.

The eGo trails behind most of the other disks in our Product Survey. You'd be better advised looking elsewhere, as you can get hard drives in the same stylish casing with much better speeds.
