Heavyweight
On our bathroom scales, this briefcase weighed in at one and a quarter kilos (3 lb) even with nothing in it!
This makes it pretty heavy to start with, so once you've got your computer inside you're going find it tough to lug around with you all day.
This makes it pretty heavy to start with, so once you've got your computer inside you're going find it tough to lug around with you all day.
The most exciting touch is a single yellow stripe that runs along the side.
This isn't a model you choose for its looks, though, but because it can fit just about everything you need inside.
While you're on the move, it's anything but discreet and might as well wear a huge label saying: 'Attention Thieves: Laptop in this bag'.

The construction offers no surprises, with nylon paired with a woven strap and a small handle on top.
On the inside, the main compartment isn't reinforced, with just a single layer of nylon separating your laptop from the outside world. This means that the case can't stand up independently either.
When it comes to fastening, this case becomes something of a formless mass if it's not done up properly.
This flexibility means you can shove a lot in, but the results are far from aesthetically pleasing.

We had hoped that this case's boring exterior would be improved by a collection of well thought pockets on the inside.
There's room for most of the things you'll want to keep in there--business cards, discs, stationary and so on--but not a lot of it.
Take the two CD pockets, for instance: they're a good idea, but you need to force the discs in, so much so that we tore the paper sleeve on our CDs; we wouldn't like to try getting a fully-fledged CD case in there.
For other accessories, there's a small mesh, or a pocket behind the CD slots. While this last is pretty sizeable, you'll want to be careful because it rubs up against your laptop and the divide between the two is not particularly thick.
To cut a long story short, we were disappointed inside as well as out.
There are three large pockets, sure, but it's not really clear what any of them are designed for.
A simple (and necessary) accessory like a power adaptor doesn't even seem to have been considered.
If you put it in the front, it bulges out of the front of the bag, while if you really do have a 17'' widescreen laptop, there won't be room for it in the central compartment either.
As for smaller items, it's very hard to know what to put where.
The mouse can go in the mesh bag, but it'll bounce around a lot. You could put your headphones behind the disc pocket, but it's very deep and difficult to get things out of.

If you're looking for a classic laptop case, then chances are you'll want it to be solid and practical. This one is certainly solid--too solid, perhaps--but there are definitely more practical options available.
