This BD35 is almost identical to the Panasonic DMP-BD55, with the only difference between the two models limited to the fact that its analog audio outputs are only in stereo, rather than surround sound.

The sound you'll get is obviously not the same as with the BD55, but if you don't already have an amplifier as part of your Home Cinema system that accepts 7.1 analog inputs, you won't be missing anything.

And if you've know idea what any of this means, then you're probably better with this BD35, an excellent choice.

-

Handles all audio formats

-

Both optical and coaxial digital audio out

-

Lots of customizable settings in clear interface

-

DiVX subtitling can be buggy

-

Incompatible with DiVX HD

-

Remote not backlit

Panasonic makes no secret of the fact that the BD35 is a carbon copy of the excellent BD55, only without the 7.1 surround sound analog outputs and the audio components that go with them. Even without these, though, it makes for an excellent entry-level Blu-ray disc player.
