Here we have the ideal configuration and there shouldn’t be a better result than this one. The test PC runs with Windows Vista and an NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GTX graphic card. The sensor and its software suite are installed on this machine for which we create a calibration profile that is made specifically for this configuration.
Once the operation is finished, we take another measurement to verify if the initial differences in colors were indeed corrected.

The result is up expectations and the average difference becomes inferior to 1 in our three examples (the 2232BW in DVI, 2232BW in VGA, and the VP930 in DVI). In all cases we can say that color rendering was corrected and calibrated.
You are probably excited and asking why spend 350 Euros for a professional tool?
Now we will just have to see if the profiles created in this way are usable in other situations. We start with a configuration using Windows XP...
Once the operation is finished, we take another measurement to verify if the initial differences in colors were indeed corrected.

- average dE > 3: visible differences which can sometimes be problematic
- average dE < 3: good color fidelity and can be considered satisfactory.
- average dE < 2: excellent and good for touching up photos.
- average dE < 1: we can safely say that the human eye won’t detect the slight differences.
The result is up expectations and the average difference becomes inferior to 1 in our three examples (the 2232BW in DVI, 2232BW in VGA, and the VP930 in DVI). In all cases we can say that color rendering was corrected and calibrated.
